Suganda Total Defence Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++ Review. Buy or Bye?

Introduction:

In the ever-growing world of sunscreens, Suganda Total Defence Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++ promises to be a remarkable blend of cutting-edge sun filters with skincare benefits. Its impressive ingredient list and ethical stance make it a contender for those seeking comprehensive sun protection without compromising on skin health.

Sunscreen Filters Used:

  1. Tinosorb M (Methylene Bis-Benzotriazolyl Tetramethylbutylphenol): A broad-spectrum filter that protects against both UVA and UVB rays. Tinosorb M is also known to be photostable, ensuring that it doesn't degrade quickly upon sun exposure.

  2. Uvinul A Plus (Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate): Provides solid protection against UVA rays, which are responsible for premature skin aging and sun-induced skin damage.

  3. Uvinul T150 (Ethylhexyl Triazone): Specifically targets UVB rays, which cause sunburn and can contribute to skin cancer risk.

Texture and Finish:

The texture is lightweight, creamy, spreads smoothly on the skin and settles to non greasy, semi-matte finish. It doesn't leave any whitecast (atleast on my skin tone).

Pros:

  1. Broad-Spectrum Protection: With a combination of modern sun filters, it offers robust protection against both UVA and UVB rays.

  2. Skincare Benefits: Apart from sun protection, ingredients like Niacinamide and Sodium Hyaluronate offer skin brightening and hydrating benefits, respectively.

  3. Natural Extracts: The inclusion of Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract and Physalis Angulata Extract may provide antioxidant and soothing properties.

  4. Pregnancy Safe: The sunscreen is pregnancy and can also be used by kids.

  5. Cruelty-Free: This sunscreen wasn't tested on animals, which is great.

  6. Balanced pH: With a pH level of 5.5 - 6, it aligns closely with the skin's natural pH, ensuring minimal irritation and maintaining the skin's barrier function.

Cons:

Sometimes, when I layered it with other skincare products, I noticed slight pilling. You may need to be cautious about layering products to avoid pilling.

Conclusion:

The Suganda Total Defence Sunscreen SPF 50 PA++++ stands out not just as a sun shield, but also as a skincare ally. Its mix of cutting-edge sun filters and nurturing ingredients make it more than just a daily essential; it's a skin treat. With an ethical backbone, showcased by its cruelty-free stance, and a formulation mindful of varied needs, including pregnancy, this sunscreen clearly resonates with thoughtful skincare enthusiasts. While every product has its quirks, the overall merit of this sunscreen is evident. For those prioritizing both protection and skin health, this is undeniably a sunscreen to consider.
